Robert Murat : expat. Resident now in PDL. Divorced from wife Dawn who lives in the UK with daughter Sofia (who is the same age as Madeleine).

Robert Murat runs a real estate company which is reported to have links to the Marina.

Robert Murat has been an official suspect since May 15th.

He hired a car in a great hurry 2 days after Madeleine disappeared.

He involved himself completely in the case from the start, offering his services as an interpreter, getting water for people etc.

He arrived in PDL on May 1 after having been in Exeter redecorating a house his mother had been left in a will.

Sergey Malinka - 22 year old Russian living with his parents in PDL.

Set up Murat's website and claimed not to have spoken to him in over a year.

However, on the night of May 3rd - after 10.30pm at night, the pair spoke on the phone. Neither of them can remember what they spoke about.

Malinka is alleged to have wiped his hard drives and then offered them to the police.

He runs his own computer company and is also a key member / part owner in the Island Expeditions company which runs boat trips from the Marina. They also sail to far away islands.

Jenny Murat - 71. Owns Casa Liliana where Robert lives with her.

She set up a stall after Madeleine disappeared. It was for people to come to her and give information on the case if they didn't want to go to the police.

Michaela Walczuch who is married to Portuguese pool cleaner Luis Antonio, and is the girlfriend of Robert Murat.

She is also in the property business with him.

It is said that their company name Romigen stands for :

RO (bert)
MI (chaela)
GEN (for genisis meaning new beginning)

Tuck Price - spokesman for the Murat family.

Have seen claims that he's an American designer, a photographer, a businessman, etc etc etc. We know he has a British passport thanks to an exposay piccie of him handing it over.

Apart from being an incredibly poor spokesman, we have very little to go on with this man.

Jane Tanner & Russell O'Brien

Moved to Exeter just 4 weeks before coming to PDL.
Russell is a doctor and was absent from the table that fateful night for quite some time as his own daughter was sick.

Jane Tanner claims to have seen a man carrying a child shaped bundle on the night Madeleine disappeared.

(Over time that has morphed into - she is sure she saw Madeleine as she recognised the pyjamas).

Dr Fiona Payne, Diane Webster (Fiona's mother) and Dr David Payne.

Not an awful lot to say about these people - they were there on the night, and helped in the search. Well Diane didn't, she burst into tears when Kate came back and said Madeleine was missing......

Dr Matthew Oldfield & Rachel Oldfield

Matthew offered to check the McCann children at 9.30pm when it was Gerry's turn to do so. He now admits (it would seem) that he didn't go into the room, he just listened at the door.

James Gorrod.
A keen sailor & property solicitor from Exeter, he was on holiday at the same time as the McCann party. He admits to knowing Russell & Jane but says it was only from the holiday he knew them.

His car was searched and he says the police told him they have no further questions for him at all.

Jeremy Wilkins

Met Gerry when Gerry was coming back from checking the kids at 9.05pm. They spoke on the road for approx 10 mins and Jeremy claims he did not see the man which Jane claimed to see.
